Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again - Phantom of the Opera |
] |
Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, there lived a princess. (Okay, she's not really a princess, but for the purpose of this dramatisation she is. Humor me, okay?) The princess lived in a nice cozy castle, just her and the king. They lost their queen in a terrible accident, before she ever even knew her. It was hard, not knowing the queen, but she was okay. The king was a good father, kind and protective. He was happiest when the princess sang and danced, so she had all the best lessons the kingdom could offer. She filled their castle with music - always singing, always dancing - and she thought she was already in the "happily ever after" stage of the story.
The princess was wrong, though, and was separated forever from the king. He was never going to be able to return, and it broke her heart. She was alone. Where was that happily ever after? The princess went from one home to another, but no one seemed to want to "keep her". Probably because she was too quiet and introverted, they wanted a sort-of-daughter that was, well, not so dull and boring. She kept dancing and singing, off on her own, as much as she could and worked really hard at any school assignments. One day at a time, one day at a time.
One day, the princess was shocked when one of her teachers (probably taking pity on her) asked her if she would like to come live with him and his family. A sort-of-father, sort-of-mother, and sort-of-brother all waiting for her in this new home. Not quite the cozy castle of her father, but it was a place she could belong. Perhaps, she thought, perhaps a happy ending might exist for her still.
There's not much to say about the princess, she's your ordinary girl, really. Still, not a day go by she doesn't miss the king - her father, her friend, her protector - but as the days go she is able to handle the empty space he left behind better and better. The princess still dances and sings, to this day, knowing that he is watching over her as she does. Somewhere, she imagines, he's looking down on her, smiling his brightest, everytime she sings.
The end.
I'm having a bit of trouble thinking of 250 words to say about myself. Hm. I'm just not that interesting, I don't think, to have to subject anyone to an essay about me. I'd much rather write one about someone else, really! Hm. My name is Delilah. I'm a junior. I sing. I dance. I... do homework?
This semester I'm taking Honors Chorus III, Honors Chemistry, Dance III (Ballet 1), & Dance IV (Jazz/Modern 2). You might recognize me from my involvment with the Drama club, particularly from my performances in the musicals. As you can tell I like to sing and dance, more than anything. I'm also on the National Honor Society, since it looks good on college applications and I'm aiming to get as much funding from scholarships as I can when I graduate. I'm on the Dance Team, also.
I hope this was sufficient enough, I'm really not all that interesting. I apologize!
